One of our chapter members, Elizabeth Skidmore is actively involved in a women's committee called Sisters in the Brotherhood that is through the New England Regional Council of Carpenters. This group which has been meeting monthly since 1998, works to build a stronger union by building an active community of women within each local, identify issues that affect women carpenters and advocate for solutions, and increase the number and diversity of women in the Carpenter's Union.
On Dec 15th, the group met to celebrate the season and toast their accomplishments of 2015 including graduating from apprenticeships, marriages, retirements, and a year of steady work.
